Welcome to my ePortfolio!
My name is Alex Titus from Santa Rosa, and I am a Spanish Major with a Business Minor at California State University, Monterey Bay. I hope you enjoy my Graduation ePortfolio!
Personal Statement
I remember the very first time in my life when Spanish was the only language I could use to get by in public. It was the summer of 2009 when I joined a friend of mine on a six-week study abroad trip to Costa Rica to get credit for our Spanish 2 class at the Santa Rosa Junior College. My Spanish was far from advanced; however, with the little I knew I enjoyed attempting to communicate with the family I lived with, other students at the school, and taxi drivers. All in all, the experience opened my eyes to new cultures and opportunities.
Along with the study abroad experience, during the summer of 2010
I traveled to Peru by myself to further expand my cultural knowledge. After seeing Machu Picchu and a handful of other amazing locations, I knew Spanish would be a part of my life forever.
As a student at California State University Monterey Bay, I am obtaining a BA in Spanish and a minor in Business. Living in California the ability to communicate in Spanish is essential. I am aware companies are in need of a bridge between languages, and I intend to be prepared to connect the gap. When it comes to a career that I desire; however, I am not sure what exactly what I intend to do with my major, but I do know that mastering the language is the first step.
